Harmony Welcomes New Pastor and Family

Pastor Matthew Garrabrant led worship for the first time on July 7th. Pastor Matt is a “second career” clergyman. The full-time ministry is a calling from God, which he (and others) answered after spending the early part of his life as a fourth generation dairy farmer until 2002. He also worked as meat department cutter 1994-1998 at Geyer’s in Bucyrus.

Pastor Matt comes to us from the Nevada Charge, which includes Nevada, Eden Chapel, Union Salem and Smithville United Methodist Churches. In his six years of ministry he has pastored six fellowships of Christian. That gives him more different churches than our retiring pastor served in his twenty three years.

His work as a meat cutter not only provided Pastor Matt an income, He met his wife Angela at Geyer's Market. They married on 10/25/1996 at his family farm and have been blessed with 3 sons: Luke-l3, Lane-9 and Nathan-7. Their 3 daughters are Fern-4 and twin girls Bristoll and Brielle who are 4 months old.

"I believe faith and family are gifts from God and prayer is the essential ingredient in the development of both,” says Pastor Matt. “When we pray Jesus intercedes, taking our prayers to God, and it is the Holy Spirit that works in answering our prayers in God's time and according to His will.”

Pastor Matt’s View of Ministry

I believe there is nothing more rewarding than receiving a Holy calling from God to do His Holy work. The Holy work of ministry is serving God by serving the people. As a pastor in the United Methodist Church, I strive to display the grace of God by meeting and embracing the people just as they are and where they are in life. Believing that it is the blood of Christ that saves them; it is the power of the Holy Spirit that will change them; and it is God's will that everyone would come to know Him. One day all believers will be together in God's eternal Kingdom of Heaven. O what a glorious day that will be!

Welcome To Harmony!

You will find a friendly greeting and a helpful people as you arrive. We are known in the community as "the church that really prays for people."

At Harmony, GRACE is much more than a prayer said before dinner. It is the gift of God who calls each person into a personal relation ship through Jesus Christ as empowered through the Holy Spirit. We believe that each person must then choose whether to follow God's leading or to remain estranged from God. Not sure how that works? Visit us and we will do our best to make it clear.

If you are looking for good, friendly, folksy people who will welcome you whoever you are, the drop in just as you are. We will be glad to see you.
